The full-day workshop will take place at METRO and provides an overview of the strategic planning process from the perspective of small archival program management, emphasizing relationships and community-building both within and outside of the archival program’s parent organization.

Registration is only $20 for this full-day workshop due to funding made available as part of METRO’s Keeping Collections project, which is funded in part by the New York State Archives Documentary Heritage Program.

By the end of this program, participants will:

  • Understand how to balance strategic planning and the day-to-day work of managing a small archival program
  • Craft a vision statement that complements the values and culture of the archival program’s parent organization
  • Write a preliminary SWOT analysis for his or her archival program
  • Learn to identify appropriate goals and formulate achievable objectives

The full-day workshop will take place at METRO.

Eighteen $100 partial scholarships [scholarship applications have now been awarded] to this workshop are available as part of METRO’s Keeping Collections project, which is funded in part by the New York State Archives Documentary Heritage Program.
